Scotch Plains Public Library’s annual summer reading challenge begins Monday, June 1st and runs until Friday, August 28th.

Wee ReadersRegister today!

This program is for any child not yet entering Kindergarten. Children work through an interactive reading game board to earn prizes!

KidsRegister today!

Reading Challenge: Students entering K to 5th grade set their own reading goal and earn a prize for every 25% of their goal read. When they reach their goal, they are entered into a raffle.

Bingo: Students from K to 5th grade who complete BINGO earn a prize. Complete the entire board to be entered into a raffle.

TeensRegister today!

Students entering grades 6-12 can set their own reading goal for the summer and earn drawing entries for 25% of the goal that they complete! Teens who reach their goals will be invited to a lock-in event (to be held only when it’s safe again). There will also be opportunities to earn additional drawing entries by participating in various library activities.


From July 1 through September 8, Scotch Plains and Fanwood adult cardholders (ages 18+) can join in the summer reading fun too! Fill out a simple form for every book you read or listen to, review optional. Each form is eligible for a chance at one of our seven summer reading raffle prizes – a gift certificate to a local business.
