Family Events

Grab your beach towel! Families are invited to join us for a special beach themed movie night featuring a fun animated film! Before the film, we will make yummy beach pudding cups using vanilla pudding, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and gummy rings. Registration required and opens 8/15. We will be showing a PG rated Disney Film. Feel free to reach out for the specific title!

Open to the entire family, this LEGO club encourages children and their grown ups to work together in order to design and build unique creations in the Children’s Room of the library.
Programs for birth-five years
Weekly Spring Storytimes resume in July! Check back for updates soon! Online registration is required for all programs except our Super Saturday Program. Registration opens 1 week prior and are to Scotch Plains and Fanwood residents.

The entire family is welcome to join us for this storytime each Saturday! Children and their caregivers can increase language development and comprehension with our stories, songs, and rhymes.

Delight and stimulate your baby’s senses with short books, music, and movement activities. This baby program, which is designed for children from birth to 23 months and their caregivers, encourages early language development in a fun and engaging environment.

Preschool Storytime – for 3-5 year olds
Children ages 3 to 5 can join us for this interactive storytime program. This program is designed to practice school readiness skills and foster a love of reading and learning in young children.

Travel the path to literacy at our fun and engaging program designed just for two-year-olds. Caregivers will interact with their children through books, music, and movement activities while exploring letters, sounds, and counting!

Link literature with art in this program designed for children ages 3 to 5 years old. Perfect for the child who like to express themselves with glue and crayons! Each session will include a book with a related craft.
*Online registration is required for all programs and are limited to Scotch Plains and Fanwood Cardholders except our Super Saturday Program. Registration opens 1 week prior. Neighboring families are welcome to call the day of the event for availability.
Programs for Elementary Age

Join us on select Thursday afternoons at 4:00pm and Monday at 7:00pm for fun activities from create your own Pet Rocks, Ice Cream and more!
