Teachers and librarians are working toward the same goals. The Scotch Plains Public Library welcomes area schools who would like to request a field trip to the library. In order to provide meaningful use of the library and resources, library staff must be prepared for group needs and must ensure that the visit will not conflict with other group visits or events.

Schools and groups of 6 or more individuals should prearrange visits a minimum of four weeks in advance. Activities are customized to the age or grade of participants and may include information about library resources, story sharing, and a library tour.
