VIRTUAL | Fledgling Foodies: Lo Mein

Make your own, customized version of lo mein faster than you could get it from a restaurant! (In the interest of time, expense, and vegan-friendliness, we’re not making an authentic version, but it will still be delicious!) If you’re one of the first several teens to register, the library will provide many of the necessary ingredients.
Ingredients you’ll need:
*Items marked with an asterisk will be provided by the library for the first several registrants.
- 8 ounces noodles* (lo mein noodles are great, but spaghetti or something similar is also fine)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil*
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce*
- 2-3 cloves fresh garlic*
- 1″ fresh ginger root*
- A few green onions*
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 3-4 cups vegetables of your choice (fresh or frozen is fine)
- 2 tablespoons sesame or olive oil
- Optional: protein of your choice – like chicken breast, eggs, or tempeh (if you’d like to add one of these and would like more specific information, email us!)
