New Jersey’s Role in Computing History
May 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Did you know that New Jersey was deeply involved in the evolution of the computer industry? Join us via Zoom for a talk by Evan Koblentz and learn how the summer of ’48 shaped the 21st century; why a Jersey shore army base made a computer as big as a whale; how Apple almost had a different name, and much more — all because of events in the Garden State.
Evan Koblentz is a computer historian and technology writer, and the author of the book Abacus to Smartphone: The Evolution of Mobile and Portable Computers. He also operates a Lego robotics website called Minds Before The Storm.
Registration is required. Registered participants will receive a Zoom link via email in advance of the meeting.
