Exploring Origami
Thursday, September 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Origami is an ancient art that remains popular today as a form of creative expression, and even serves as a source of scientific and techical innovation!*
Art educator Joy Ann Cabanos is offering two workshops that will give you a chance to learn and apply basic origami techniques in a mindful, relaxed and fun environment.
You’re encouraged to sign up for both workshops, but you can also choose to attend one or the other.
In both workshops, you’ll learn some Origami history and explore the basic folds from which all origami figures are made.
- In this first session, you’ll develop your origami skills, and practice as you learn to fold easy versions of a flower, a leaf and a butterfly. If time permits, you can complete several of these for a lovely bouquet you can share with family and friends.
- In the second session on Thursday, September 26 (register here), you’ll learn to fold a modular fall leaf wreath—a perfect way to celebrate the start of the fall season If you attended the previous workshop, this will also be a great opportunity to practice and reinforce your foundational techniques.
All materials will be supplied.
Registration is required. These program are for adults (18+).
