A Girl Stands at the Door

March 30 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Join us for a talk by Rutgers Professor Rachel Devlin, author of A Girl Stands at the Door: The Generation of Young Women who Desegregated America’s Schools.

Who started the grassroots efforts that led to the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling striking down segregation? Young women and girls. Professor Devlin’s groundbreaking research has uncovered the central role played by many incredibly courageous young women and girls. She brings their stories to life and “forces us to view a central strand of civil rights history in an entirely new way.”

No registration is necessary for this program.
