Back for their annual recital on August 19, Woodland String Quartet has added a member. As a quintet, the group will play Mozart’s “Viola Quintetto #VI” and Beethoven’s “Viola Quintet #1, opus 29″. Other selections on the program include “Mood” by William Kroll and a selection written especially for this performance, “Nuevo Basso Novo,” by Robert Paoli. A reception with refreshments follows the performance.

Autumn in New York: QED Jazz Trio

The QED Jazz Trio, with special guest, Bob Miller on alto sax, will wrap up our Autumn in New York festivities with a performance of NYC-themed standards. Concert ends by three o’clock and the public is invited to stay another 30 minutes to request tunes. Bob has played with jazz legends including Chet Baker, Charlie Barnet, and “Zoot” Sims. Come for a performance of familiar Christmas and Hanukkah songs and carols, given by Scotch Plains Fanwood High School’s premier auditioned mixed choir. The group is lead by SPFHS choral director, Mr. John Brzozowski.
