		<description><![CDATA[Monthly Hypertension Clinics sponsored by the Scotch Plains Health Department.  The clinics will take place at the Scotch Plains Public Library located on Bartle Avenue between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Monthly Hypertension Clinics sponsored by the Scotch Plains Health Department.  The clinics will take place at the <strong>Scotch Plains Public Library</strong> located on <strong>Bartle Avenue between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. </strong>on the <strong>second Tuesday</strong> of each month.</p>
<p>While    these clinics are offered in an effort to assist residents in    maintaining good health, those residents who are over the age of thirty    and smoke, or are overweight, or have a family history of heart  disease   or diabetes, and who have not had their blood pressure checked   recently,  are particularly urged to attend these clinics.</p>
<p>Please contact Township Nurse Susan Higgins in her Rahway Office at (732) 827-2158 for additional information.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[This presentation shows how parks throughout New Jersey attest to Olmsted’s legacy and philosophy of landscape design. ]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.scotlib.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Frederick_Law_Olmstedsargentthumb.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-4562" title="Frederick_Law_Olmstedsargentthumb" src="http://www.scotlib.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Frederick_Law_Olmstedsargentthumb.jpg" border="0" alt="" width="101" height="101" /></a> Frederick Law Olmsted came to Newark in 1867 to select a site for Branch Brook Park, America’s first county park.  This presentation will show how parks throughout New Jersey, including the Union County park system and Fairview Cemetery in Westfield,  still  attest to Olmsted’s legacy and philosophy of landscape design.</p>
<p>Kathleen Galop   serves as Principal of <em>Preservation Possibilities</em>,   an historic preservation consulting firm in Summit. She has extensive experience and a national reputation in the administration of historic preservation projects. This program in offered through the Horizon Speakers Bureau of the New jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National  Endowment for the Humanities.</p>
