It’s that time again! As always, filers will be able to pick up many of the most-used federal forms at the library, or you can get them online. New Jersey does not send paper forms to the library, but you can get those online and the librarians can help you print them, too.
Appointments with AARP Tax Aide volunteers to help with tax forms on Monday and Tuesday mornings are now full. You may try the Springfield Public Library (973-376-4930), the Plainfield Public Library (908-753-3506), the New Providence Senior Center (908-665-0046) or Sage Eldercare in Summit (908-273-5550) to check for available appointments there.
Taxpayers should also be aware that the IRS offers free drop-in only tax preparation from 8:30 – 4:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays at their Mountainside office and on Tuesday and Thursday at the Edison offices. They will not take phone reservations for this service and it is first come, first served. The Mountainside office is located at 200 Sheffield Street, Mountainside, NJ 07092 (908 301-2112). The Edison office is located at 100 Dey Place, Edison, NJ 08817 (732 572-9752).
