Author Simon Van Booy has written two volumes of short stories, numerous articles and essays, and has a novel and children’s book underway. This fall, he is releasing three slim volumes of philosophy, each in answer to a different, vital question: Why We Fight, Why We Need Love, and Why Our Decisions Don’t Matter.
Simon will join us on October 21st to discuss Why We Need Love.
Simon will read aloud and engage participants in discussion and reflection on:
- How being exposed to some of the great thinkers of our times can change one’s outlook on life.
- Viewing television shows like “The Bachelor” as a microcosm of the human experience–and why Simon feels that reading Walt Whitman might spare the contestants the need to go on those shows to begin with.
- How philosophy can help you if you are unlucky in love.
Books will be available for purchase and signing.
