Demons, Golems, and Dybbuks: Monsters of the Jewish Imagination

The Fanwood Memorial Library and the Scotch Plains Public Library will host a free four-part discussion series called “Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature–Identity and Imagination.” The them that we will be exploring is Demons, Golems, and Dybbuks: Monsters of the Jewish Imagination.

The group will meet on Thursday afternoons from 2:30 – 3:30, beginning on March 11th at the Fanwood Memorial Library. The first book we will discuss  is  SATAN IN GORAY by I.B. Singer ; on April 8 at the Scotch Plains Public Library we will discuss THE DYBBUK by S. Ansky; May 6th at the Fanwood Memorial Library, THE PUTTERMESSER PAPERS by Cynthia Ozick; and the last group discussion will meet at the Scotch Plains Public  Library on June 3rd with the play ANGELS IN AMERICA by Tony Kushner. Eileen Toplansky will be our discussion leader for this series.
