Demons, Golems, and Dybbuks: Monsters of the Jewish Imagination

The Fanwood Memorial Library and the Scotch Plains Public Library are hosting a free four-part discussion series called “Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature–Identity and Imagination.” The them that we will be exploring is Demons, Golems, and Dybbuks: Monsters of the Jewish Imagination.

The group met on Thursday afternoon, March 11th at the Fanwood Memorial Library. The first book discussed was  SATAN IN GORAY by I.B. Singer. Group members changed the dates for subsequent meetings to: April 14th, 2-3 pm at the Scotch Plains Public Library (downstairs foyer)–THE DYBBUK by S. Ansky. May 5th, 2-3 pm at the Fanwood Memorial Library–THE PUTTERMESSER PAPERS by Cynthia Ozick. June 2nd, 2-3 pm at the Scotch Plains Public Library — ANGELS IN AMERICA by Tony Kushner. Eileen Toplansky is the discussion leader for this series.
